by Paul T. Smith
You must not think of yourself as a
soloist but rather as an assistant and guide for the singer. Your sole
duty is to help the singer to sound as good as possible. Therefore, the
accompanist has an obligation to be of maximum assistance to the singer
at all times - to lead, to wait, to listen carefully, to help in
difficult spots and, above all, to understand psychologically who is the
soloist and who is the accompanist. This book will provide examples and
ideas for the pianist to use for accompanying.
Contents include: The Intro. Intros for the Inexperienced Singer, Intros
